The castle and its garden sits in the midst of an ensemble of striking and picturesque buildings. It is, to this day, the ancestral seat of the Earls von Schönborn-Wiesentheid. The approx. 24 acre castle garden is open to the public, invites visitors to relax, and it is the location for outdoor art and cultural events. Originally designed as a Rococo garden, the park was converted into an English-style landscape garden at the end of the 19th century. Five visual corridors provide excellent views of the castle, the orangery, the lake, and the foothills of the Steigerwald Forest. Follow the signs for an informational walking tour. Guided tours with changing themes are offered regularly as well.
